Common questions about EngForge calculators, accuracy, privacy, and features.
Yes, completely free. All calculators run in your browser with no account required. We fund the platform through optional ads and donations.
No. All calculations run directly in your browser. You can optionally create an account to save reports and access AI features.
We currently have 40+ tools covering civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, chemical, aerospace, environmental, biomedical, and physics engineering. We add new calculators regularly based on user requests.
Yes! EngForge is fully responsive and works on smartphones, tablets, and desktops. All calculations run in your browser.
All formulas are based on established engineering codes and standards (AISC, ACI, NEC, etc.). However, results are for informational purposes only and must be verified by a licensed professional engineer before use in any real-world application.
We follow widely-adopted standards including AISC (steel), ACI (concrete), NEC (electrical), ASCE 7 (loads), Eurocode where applicable, and fundamental physics equations. Specific code references are noted in each calculator.
EngForge calculators are educational tools. While we strive for accuracy, all results must be independently verified and approved by a licensed professional engineer before use in any design, construction, or safety-critical application.
Please report it immediately via our GitHub issues page or contact form. We take calculation accuracy seriously and will investigate and fix verified errors promptly.
No. All calculations run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your inputs never leave your device unless you explicitly save a report to your account.
We collect minimal analytics (page views, popular tools) to improve the platform. We use Google AdSense for ads. No personal information or calculation data is stored. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Yes. Since calculations run in your browser, your data never leaves your device. For saved reports, we use industry-standard encryption and secure hosting.
Our AI assistant can provide plain-English explanations of calculation results, breaking down the formulas and engineering concepts. This feature requires an account and uses OpenAI API.
Yes! You can export results to PDF, Excel (XLSX), or share via link. Charts and formulas are included in exports.
Yes, with a free account you can save calculation reports, create versions, and access them later from any device.
Many calculators support both metric (SI) and imperial (US) units with automatic conversion. Toggle using the unit selector in each tool.
Yes! Generate a shareable link for any calculation. Your team can view the inputs, results, and charts without creating an account.
EngForge works on all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. We recommend keeping your browser updated for best performance.
Partially. Once a calculator page loads, basic calculations work offline. However, AI features, report saving, and exports require an internet connection.
Yes! The codebase is available on GitHub. Engineers and developers can review formulas, report issues, or contribute new calculators.
Currently we do not offer embeds, but you can link directly to any calculator. Embedding features may be added in the future.
Open a feature request on our GitHub repository or contact us via email. Include the engineering problem, required inputs/outputs, and relevant code/standard.
You can support us by: sharing with colleagues, contributing on GitHub, reporting bugs, suggesting improvements, or making a donation via Ko-fi.
Not currently. However, our knowledge base contains detailed engineering guides and our calculators include formula explanations.
